About Elephant Safari

This safari is another thrilling way to explore the area of this scenic wild park. Elephant safari in Manas will give you a whole new experience of riding on the back of an elephant inside the jungle where wild animals will be roaming freely around you. !! Zones in Manas National Park !!

Manas Tiger Reserve is a huge wild place in Assam and it is located in the Chirang, Darrang, Kokrajhar, Udalguri, and Baska districts of Assam. This place is divided into three zones or you can say ranges namely Bansbari (Central), Panbari (Western), and Bhuyanpara (Eastern). Tourist activities are allowed in Bansbari (Central) and Bhuyanpara (Eastern) zones only. In simple words, people cannot enter the Panbari zone or you can say the Western Range of this park. Every zone has different attractions and sightings as follows

Bhuyanpara Zone

This Manas safari zone is in the eastern part of the wild Manas National Park Assam. One thing that people who choose this zone will surely enjoy is the green grassland as it is a great hiding space for tigers and because of this, you can spot tigers here easily. Rare species such as Assam Roofed Turtle, Hispid Hare, Golden Langur, Greater one-horned rhino, Swamp deer, Bengal florican and Pygmy hog can be spotted in this zone as it provides the ideal habitat for them.

Panbari Zone

This Manas safari zone is in the western part of the wild Manas National Park and this one is around 35 kilometers away from the Barpeta Road. This zone is popular because it holds the most number of birds. It is the perfect place for bird watchers. However, safaris in this zone are not allowed. Some of the popular birds that call this zone home are hornbills, peacocks, eagles, kingfishers, woodpeckers, barbets, bee-eaters, drongos, bulbuls, babblers, warblers, flycatchers, sunbirds, and many other exclusive species as well.

Bansbari Zone

This Manas Safari zone is located in the center of this wild national park. The zone is located close to Barpeta Road and also this zone attracts people who crave the experience of exploring unexplored spots.   • You have to give the full information about the tourist who is going to be on the safari.
  • While giving the information about the tourists, the nationality should be mentioned.

  • To enter the park, you have to give the safari permits so keep them with you while you come here.
  • Also, don’t forget to keep the original IDs when you visit the park.

  • For foreigners- the ID proof that is accepted is a Passport.

  • Tourists can only enter the zone for which they have booked their safari permits.
  • Always follow the rules and instructions of the park and also it’s important to listen to what your guide says

  • One thing to keep in mind is that you have to give the hard copy of your permit when you reach the gates. Soft copies of the permit are not accepted.
  • This park remains partially open in May and October. June to September is a monsoon period, so the park remains closed. It remains open from November to April.
